Srinagar, February 23 (KNO): Relatives of the youth arrested in Deoband yesterday on Saturday protested against his detention and claimed that he is innocent. Two youth were arrested in Deoband town of Saharanpur yesterday and are accused of being Jaish e Mohammad operatives. Police has claimed that two youth identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Teli and Aqib Ahmad Malik of Pulwama were posing as students and recruiting for Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit. According to KNO correspondent, family member of Teli assembled at press enclave and claimed that their son is being framed and his name is being changed as well. “Police is claiming that his name is Shahnawaz Ahmed Teli but it is not true, his name is Nawaz Ahmed Teli," they said while displaying his marks cards with the name Nawaz. Brother of Nawaz, Waqar Ahmed Teli, said that he is being framed in false cases and is being accused of something he is not involved in. "He was pursuing religious education at Deoband seminary. He is innocent and should be released immediately," Waqar said. He urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to personally intervene in the matter and do an ‘unbiased investigation’ as to why his ‘innocent brother is being framed under charges which he has not been part of'.(KNO)
